The one thing certain in the future is “change”. Our congregation has recently experienced a great change with the resignation of Pastor Flavia. Concurrent with this major change I had the privilege to lead 3 congregational meetings exploring what St Paul’s future might look like. he meetings were so filled with optimism and energy I am convinced our future will be bright.

To that end we have been blessed with Rev. Paul Winters filling a role of supply pastor for the past two Sundays and his inspiring sermons have been enjoyed by all. Yes even the attendance appears to have jumped forward. We will see Rev. Winters again for 2 Sundays in May. The last Sunday in

April was our contemporary service lead by Mike Hiner who is nearing completion of his Deacon education training. He has

expressed a desire to make St Paul’s a part of his remaining 200 hours of CPE (clinical pastoral education) field time. We will see Mike again in May.

Your church council, in conjunction with Pastor Bettye Wolinski of the MD/DE Synod, are well into the selection process of candidates for interim pastor. The current candidates are retired pastors interested in interim assignments on a less than full time employment basis. This financially works well for us as we attempt to balance the 2018 budget, and still be able to provide a highly experienced, qualified interim Pastor. It would be our hopes to call a part time interim Pastor by mid year.

God is Good and our future is bright! I hope to see the energy and enthusiasm expressed at the congregational meetings turned loose on our mission statement “grow our membership with faith and love and share our blessings with all Gods people”. With new leadership, direction, and our amazing Can Do Spirit anything is possible.
